#1 Little Snake River Runs Past #4 Encampment, 78-26 [VIDEO]

Top-ranked Little Snake River never trailed and rolled to a 78-26 victory at No. 4 Encampment last Saturday in Class 1A-6 Man football.

The Rattlers jumped out to a 19-0 lead and reached the running clock in the third quarter.

Kannadis Peroulis ran for 257 yards and four TDs, while Hadley Myers added 209 yards rushing and 5 TDs. Zane Matheson connected with Seth Maxson on a pair of TD passes, and Maxson added a rushing touchdown.

Myers scored from 20 and 22 yards out, while Peroulis had touchdowns of 75 and 49 yards in the first quarter. Kaben Pickett accounted for Encampment’s only score of the first quarter on a 60-yard TD run. It was 25-8 at the end of the first quarter.

The second saw LSR stretch its lead. Matheson tossed TD passes of 32 and 34 yards to Maxson. Peroulis added TD runs of 3 and 60 yards.

The Tigers’ only score came on a pitch to Quade Jordan, who lateraled the ball to Briston Sifford late in the first half. It was 52-14, Little Snake River, at halftime.

Myers scored on TD runs of 23, 27, and 50 yards in the third quarter for the Rattlers. Encampment’s lone score was on a 44-yard kick-off return TD by Pickett. The score was 71-20 at the end of the third quarter.

Each team scored once in the fourth. The Tigers’ touchdown came on a 46-yard run by Jordan. Maxson’s 5-yard TD run capped the scoring.

Little Snake River finished with 502 yards rushing in the game. Matheson was 4-6 passing for 72 yards and the two scores. He also led the Rattlers on defense with 22 points. That included six unassisted tackles and four pass breakups. Myers added an interception on defense.

Little Snake River improved to 6-0 on the season and 3-0 in the South Conference. The Rattlers clinched the top seed and home field from the division in the 6-man playoffs. LSR hosts Farson-Eden on Saturday at 2 p.m.

Encampment fell to 4-2 on the season and 2-2 in conference games. The Tigers have a bye during Week 7.
