There was another wild 1A 6 man game on Friday when #1 Meeteetse went on the road to face winless Burlington. At halftime, Meeteetse held a slim 38-32 on the upset-minded Huskies. The Longhorns then put 36 points on the board to lead 74-32. Burlington didn't give up by any stretch and reeled off 36 points of their own. The Huskies had an unbelievable rally but fell short in the contest 74-68.

Meeteetse quarterback Dace Bennett threw for 289 yards and four touchdowns with one interception. He also ran the ball for 178 yards so he had quite an afternoon. Kalvin Erickson caught 7 balls for 98 yards and two touchdowns while Joe Pina caught 4 balls for 115 yards. All told the Longhorns had well over 500 yards of offense which is pretty much the standard for them.

So Meeteetse is 3-1 and will host a good Encampment team this week. Burlington will be looking for their first win of the year when they travel to Dubois on Friday afternoon.

We have some awesome pictures from that Meeteetse/Burlington game thanks to Angie Erickson. Enjoy!
