The 2A girl's ' race had the makings of a 4 peat for Hailey Jones of Moorcroft. She was the favorite but Wyoming Indian freshman Paris Barrera had a different idea. She stayed right with Jones and passed her down the stretch for a stunning win and the 2A state championship. Her winning time was 20.13.57 to edge Jones by a mere 5 seconds. That was the closest race of the day by far in Afton and Wyoming Indian won the 2A team championship for the very first time. Larissa McElroy took 3rd and Riquell Curry was 4th. The Lady Chiefs won it with 31 points with Lovell 2ndwith 57 and Thermopolis 3rd with 64. The weather wasn't great for the race in Star Valley but the race was great. Enjoy our short video.
