Upton-Sundance and Big Horn were both 2A playoff qualifiers in 2021. The question is whether these 2 squads can qualify for the state tournament again. On Friday, Big Horn came away with a 4-6 win over Upton-Sundance to get to 1-1 on the year after a season-opening loss to Lovell.

In this game on Friday, Big Horn jumped on the board first thanks to a 69-yard touchdown connection from Cooper Garber to Dylan Greenough-Groom so the Rams led 6-0. Big Horn added to the lead in the 1st quarter as Garber threw another TD pass, this time to Drew Heerman that covered 9 yards to bump the Ram lead to 13.

Garber was in the midst of a career game as he threw two more touchdown passes to Greenough-Groom. One was for 25 yards and the other for 54. In between those scoring plays, Garber had a rushing touchdown from a yard out and led 34-0 at halftime.

Each team found the end zone in the 2nd half but Big Horn wins going away and will travel to Glenrock this week. This was the first game of the season for the Patriots so there is plenty of room for growth. Their next assignment will be tough as they'll take on the undefeated Tongue River Eagles in Upton on Friday.

Be sure and check out some great photos of that game thanks to the Upton-Sundance Patriots. They can be found in our gallery below. Enjoy!
