Prep teams around the state are getting ready for the start of the season so it's an exciting time of year. Over in Big Piney, the football team is now under the guidance of  Jeromy Moffat who was an assistant with the Puncher program. He's also a Big Piney alum so that provides some consistency. Big Piney is also moving to 1A 9-man this season so that will give opposing teams something to think about considering they went 6-4 last year in 2A. This is a group that had 3 all-state players in 2021, Jaspur Brower, Kou Walton, and Dalton Bell but this year's squad will have to replace 13 seniors including Brower who competed in the National High School Finals  Rodeo in the bareback.

The Big Piney volleyball team qualified for the 2A State Tournament a year ago, going 0-2. But the Punchers went 6-0 in conference play and had an all-state selection in Josie Banks. It may be live and learn for a while but that's normal at the beginning of the season.

We do have a few photos to share with you from the Big Piney football and volleyball scrimmages over the weekend, compliments of Joan Snyder-Mitchell. Enjoy!
