The 3A East regional cross country meet was originally scheduled for Douglas but course conditions warranted a move to Worland. Jake Bishop of Worland took advantage of the change in scenery to win the boys' race in 16.51.92. Cameryn Spence of Douglas picked up the silver medal in this meet with a time is 17.12.89 with Ayden Loya of Torrington placed 3rd in 17.22.89. The 4th place finisher was Brodyn Lambert of Buffalo his teammate Zach Freise took 5th.

Buffalo won the team championship in this regional thanks to placing 5 runners in the top 11. The Bison finished with 33 points, Worland 2nd with 50 and Torrington 3rd with 94. After that, it was Douglas, Newcastle, Rawlins, Burns-Pine Bluffs, and Wheatland.

For the ladies, Emma Gonzoles of Burns-Pine Bluffs who took 8th at last year's state meet took the tape in this meet on Friday with a clocking of 19.19.10 with Ryann Smith of Rawlins 2nd in 19.23.38. Lily Nichols of Wheatland was 3rd in 19.50.80. Lexi Rule of Buffalo was 4th and Zena Tapia of Worland 5th.

Buffalo took the girls' team championship with 3 runners in the top 9 and finished with 52 points. Burns-Pine Bluffs was 2nd with 79 and Worland 3rd with 98, followed by Douglas, Torrington, Rawlins, Newcastle, and Wheatland. The state cross country meets will be this Saturday at Wyoming Indian High School in Ethete.
