Burlington learned a few things in their loss 60-52 loss to Dubois in the 1A 6-Man regular season. Those lessons bore fruit as the Huskies turned the tables and beat the Rams 77-28 in the semi-final round of the playoffs.

Burlington started the game on the right foot with a kickoff return for a touchdown to give the Huskies a 7-0 lead. Dubois super-back Wyatt Trembly answered with a 3-yard run for a score and Trembly for the game rang up 222 yards rushing on 36 carries. He finished the year with an astounding 2502 yards which is a 6-Man single-season record.

Burlington has a superlative quarterback in Seth Wardell who had a pair of rushing TDs in the first quarter and a touchdown pass to Joe Bassett. Wardell entered the game with 28 touchdown passes this season and just one interception. The Huskies had a 28-8 lead after one-quarter of play.

Burlington started to pour it on in the 2nd quarter as Noah McMackin had two rushing touchdowns and Wardell turned his 3rd ground TD of the half. Trembly chipped in a touchdown for Dubois but the Rams trailed at the break 50-16.

In the 3rd quarter, Burlington stretched the lead as Wardell threw a touchdown pass to Bassett but Dubois responded with a pair of touchdowns from Trembly and Kaden Chamley. But that wasn't nearly enough as Dubois will finish the season at 8-2 with back-to-back playoff appearances.

Burlington is off to Laramie for the 6-Man championship game against Little Snake River on Saturday at 10 am. The Huskies are looking for their 1st state championship since 1994.
