Natrona Hosts Inaugural Lineman Football Clinic
Natrona County High School in Casper played host to the very first Central Wyoming Big Man Clinic for offensive and defensive linemen in football. Over 70 players from around the state, regardless of classification took part in the one-day camp. The O-Line guys received coaching and insight about footwork, upper and lower body power, and being very smart on the line of scrimmage. The D-Line guys are
getting advice on techniques to improve their explosiveness, stance, and just plain hard work.
The guest clinicians all had experience in the National Football League and the Canadian Football League. Natrona grad Tavan Bryan was on hand and signed with the University of Florida as a defensive tackle and played 4 years with Jacksonville, another one with Cleveland, and will be starting his 2nd season with Indianapolis.
Gillette native Clint Oldenburg was drafted by the New England Patriots as an offensive lineman in the 5th round of the 2007 draft and played for 5 other NFL teams. Another Gillette native John Chick was in Casper to work the clinic. He played the majority of his pro career in the Canadian Football League and was the league's outstanding defensive player in 2009 for the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
We have a few photos to share from the Big Man Clinic and you find them in our gallery below.
