Cheyenne Central took a big step toward a home playoff game in 4A with a dominating 56-17 win over Campbell County in Gillette on Friday night. The Indians took it to the Camels in the opening quarter as they opened up a 21-0 lead. Richard Prescott had a 10-yard run for a touchdown, Mason Counter followed that with an 11-yard scamper to the end zone, and Keagan Barlett tossed an 18-yard Td pass to Chase Talich.

Campell County got on the board in the 2nd quarter as Mason Drube ran it in from the 7 to cut the gap to 21-7. Central answered with an 8-yard touchdown from Bartlett and the Indians led 28-10 at the halftime intermission.

Central out the game away in the 3rd quarter as Bartlett threw a 55-yard touchdown pass to Prescott and then Bartlett recorded another rushing touchdown. In the 4th quarter, Central received touchdowns from Zecha King and Mason Counter with the Camels finding the end zone as Drube threw a 77-yard touchdown pass to Jeff Pelton.

Cheyenne Central at 5-3 can grab the #3 seed in the 4A playoffs with a win over Rock Springs and a Thunder Basin win over Natrona. If Natrona wins, Central will be the #4 seed and the Indians will be the 5th seed if they lose to Rock Springs and Thunder Basin beats NC.

It's been a rough go of it for Campell County lately as they have lost 3 in a row to sit at 4-4. The Camels have allowed 159 points in those 3 games but they have secured the #6 seed in the 4A playoffs. They'll finish the regular season at Sheridan on Friday night.
