Dean Shaw of Star Valley will be headed to Nebraska to compete for Chadron State in football. Shaw was a 3A all-state selection at the wide receiver spot with 27 catches for 269 yards and 5 touchdowns. He was a versatile offensive player as he was 17-25 for 295 yards as a quarterback with 4 touchdown passes and 644 yards rushing the football with 8 TDs.

Shaw used all those skills in the 3A state championship game vs. Powell back in November as he came up with an unusual trifecta. He threw a touchdown pass, caught a touchdown pass and ran for a TD, all in the first half. This past season, he averaged 127 all-purpose yards per game as the Braves won the 3A title going 12-0.

Shaw also played basketball and averaged 6 points per game and in 2018, he competed in the state track meet running in the 1600 medley relay that finished 3rd and the 4x100 relay that took 5th in class 4A.
