Douglas won 7 of 8 during the regular season but still had to post a win to secure a #1 seed in the 3A playoffs. Playing at Worland was not an easy endeavor, but the Bearcats found a way with a 16-7 win over the Warriors.

Douglas opened the scoring with a touchdown connection from Jackson Hughes to Rylan Wehr to make it 7-0. Worland responded with a touchdown connection of their own from Kade Weber to Brock Douzenis on a play that covered 59 yards to even the contest at 7 all.

The 2nd Douglas touchdown was a nifty play with Hughes catching a TD ball from Keltan Ewing that bumped the Bearcat lead to 13-7. Hughes added a 3rd quarter field goal to make it 16-7 and the Douglas defense did the rest. Wehr had an interception in the and the defense did a nice job on a solid Worland offense.

So Douglas will host Powell this week in the first round of the 3A playoffs and Powell is the only team to beat Douglas this season. Worland finished the regular season at 4-4 and is the #4 seed from the East. The Warriors will travel to Cody for their quarterfinal round game.

We have some great photos from the Douglas-Worland game in our gallery from James Yule so take a peek at those!
