The Douglas Bearcats have found some traction as they have beaten the two Fremont County schools in 3A football in consecutive weeks. The Cats back on Friday posted a 29-6 road win over Lander and the defense did their job yet again. Coming into the game, Douglas was ranked #1 in rushing defense allowing 28 yards per game, and were ranked #1 in passing defense allowing 47 yards per game.

Lander didn't get much going in the game offensive and Douglas was methodical in their approach when they had the ball. It was a nice mix between the run and the pass with quarterback Jackson Hughes making some plays with his feet and his arm. He threw a 26-yard touchdown pass in the game so the offense for the Bearcats has been just line lately. The offense has displayed marked improvement after getting shut-out by Powell earlier this year.

This week, Douglas will travel to Rawlins while Lander at 1-4 will have their annual rivalry game with Riverton on Friday night. We have some images of that Douglas/ Lander game courtesy of Coach Photography in our gallery. Enjoy
