The Douglas football program has just one losing season since 2006 so they know how to win on a consistent basis. 3A will be very competitive this season but the Cats do have three returning all-state players, Dawson Curtis, Rylan Wehr and, Kelton Ewing. Curtis is a monster on the defensive line of scrimmage, Wehr was a force at the receiver spot with 29 catches for 550 yards and 7 touchdowns while Ewing was a stud on both sides of the ball with 1043 yards rushing and 12 TD's along with 48 tackles.

A year ago, Douglas had the #1 defense in 3A and will need that kind of effort this year. Jackson Hughes will move into the starting quarterback role and the Cats will need to be sharp right off the bat as they'll travel to meet a good 2A Torrington team on Friday night. This is shaping up as a good gauge of ability game.

We paid a visit to the Douglas camp on Wednesday and talked with Wehr and Ewing about the upcoming season. Enjoy!
