Evanston senior Taylor Petersen is furthering her volleyball career after recently signing with the University of Montana Western.

Petersen was a two-year varsity letter winner and team captain for the Red Devils. She was selected all-conference in the 4A West Conference for the 2020 season. Petersen helped Evanston to a sixth-place finish at the state tournament last fall and an overall record of 16-11-1. The Red Devils won the 4A Southwest Quadrant with a 6-0 record. They finished third at the 4A West Regional Tournament.

The 5-8 setter 118 assists in the 2020 season. She also had 13 kills, 46 digs, 18 service aces, and 11 blocks.

For the past four years, Petersen has played club volleyball for Club V in Salt Lake City, UT.

Taylor carries a 4.0 cumulative GPA and is the secretary of the National Honor Society. Petersen is the daughter of Matt and Tamra Petersen.

The University of Montana Western is located in Dillon, MT. The Bulldogs compete in the Frontier Conference and are part of the NAIA level of collegiate athletics.
