The final football rankings of the season are here. The last WyoPreps.com Coaches and Media Football Poll has a handful of changes.

What’s new? Two new teams are ranked No. 1. There are three ties in the poll, but not one in Class 2A. Finally, only one new team jumps into the rankings from outside the top five from a week ago.

In Class 4A, Cheyenne East holds the top spot for a third straight week. The Thunderbirds received all but one first-place vote. Cheyenne Central jumps up two positions to No. 2. Sheridan also moves up two spots, while Thunder Basin slides just one. The Broncs and Bolts are tied for third in this week’s balloting. Rock Springs drops to No. 5.

The Cody Broncs are the new No. 1 team in Class 3A. They received 15 of the 18 votes for the top position. Jackson falls to second, while Powell holds steady at No. 3. Douglas and Star Valley end the rankings tied for fourth, as they enter the playoffs and will play each other.

The new top-ranked team in Class 2A is Lyman. The Eagles finally knock Mountain View out of the No. 1 position. Lyman earned all but two first-place votes. The Buffalos fall to second. Upton-Sundance and Torrington hold in third and fourth. Lovell is finally alone at No. 5 after being tied for that spot in the last two polls. Four other teams received votes this week.

The top four in Class 1A-9 Man has been the same all season. From the preseason through the final rankings, the Southeast Cyclones are No. 1. They garnered 12 of 13 first-place votes. Rocky Mountain is second, Lusk is third, and Shoshoni is No. 4. The only new team in this week’s poll is in this division. That’s the Pine Bluffs Hornets, who find themselves ranked fifth.

Finally, Class 1A-6 Man has the only unanimous No. 1 in the poll. Farson-Eden goes wire-to-wire in the top spot, and the Pronghorns were named at the top on all 11 ballots. Meeteetse is a unanimous pick for No. 2. Encampment and Kaycee are tied for third in this week’s voting. Little Snake River rounds out the top five.

There is one playoff game in each classification with ranked teams from the final WyoPreps.com Coaches and Media Poll going head-to-head. Those are Rock Springs at Sheridan in 4A and Star Valley at Douglas in 3A. From 2A, it’s Lovell at Upton-Sundance, while in 9-man it will be Shoshoni hosting Pine Bluffs. The ranked match-up in 6-man is Little Snake River at Kaycee.
