The fan-voted WyoPreps Game of the Week for small schools is from the Class 1A 9-Man division. No. 1 Lingle-Ft. Laramie travels to Lusk to take on the No. 4 ranked Tigers. Both teams won their season debut last week. Both begin conference play in the 9-man East Conference on Friday night.

Lusk went to Cowley last Friday and knocked off the then-fourth-ranked Rocky Mountain Grizzlies, 22-12. The Tigers took advantage of five turnovers in the road win. The top-ranked Doggers rolled past Wind River, 63-14. Both teams put up similar numbers on offense. Lusk gained 235 yards compared to Lingle’s 244. The Doggers defense only gave up 197 yards versus the 308 allowed by the Tigers.

WyoPreps spoke with Lusk head coach Chris Skeen and Lingle head coach Brandon Gifford to preview the game between two long-time SEWAC rivals. We asked both coaches about their first game of the season, what they learned about their team, starting conference play, what they expect from each other, and some keys for their team to have success.

According to the series history at wyoming-football.com, this will be the 59th game between the two schools on the gridiron. Lusk holds a 45-10-3 edge in the series against Lingle. The first game was back in 1925.
