WyoPreps Game of the Week: #1 Big at #3 Lovell [VIDEO]

Our first WyoPreps Game of the Week feature takes to Class 2A for a top-three showdown. The No. 1 ranked Big Horn Rams visit the No. 3 Lovell Bulldogs on Friday night. Both teams had scrimmages last week, so this will be their season debut.

The Rams beat the Bulldogs in the first round of the Class 2A playoffs last year in Big Horn, 49-28. That was on the heels of a 33-27, double overtime thriller, won by the Bulldogs in Week 1 last year. Two years ago (2022), Big Horn edged Lovell, 8-7, in the 2A state championship game.

WyoPreps spoke to Lovell head coach Nicc Crosby and Big Horn head coach Kirk McLaughlin about the match-up. The conversation centered around how each coach feels about his team entering the season, what they learned about their team in the Week 0 scrimmage, what they are expecting from each other, and some keys to the game.

This game will be the 12th in the series. Big Horn leads 7-5, but they have split the last four meetings, according to wyoming-football.com.
