WyoPreps Preseason Football Tour: Pinedale Wranglers [VIDEO]
The seventh stop on the WyoPreps Preseason Football Tour was in Pinedale to see the Wranglers. It was another tough season in 2024 for Pinedale. They won their first game of the season against 3A Rawlins, but then the Wranglers went winless in the 2A West Conference. This is year two for head coach Jesse Lake. Pinedale returns six starters on both sides of the ball and wants to be more competitive in a league stacked with good teams.

The Wranglers are looking for more improvement across the board. They struggled and averaged 155.1 yards and 13.9 points per game on offense. Pinedale’s best mark was No. 10 in pass offense at 81 yards per game. Defensively last fall, the Wranglers allowed 345.1 yards and 37.9 points per game. They were rated No. 8 in pass defense and gave up just 114 yards per game with six interceptions and 10 sacks. Plenty of experience returns, including Ian Rigo at QB, plus linemen Boeh Gamble, who was an all-conference player in 2024, and Hayden Crozier. At the skill positions, Logan Emery was a move-in, who starred at Kemmerer last year and finished with 665 yards of total offense and scored 8 TDs. Also returning for Pinedale are wide receiver Landon Fornstrom and running back Quincy Mika.
WyoPreps visited with Emery and Crozier, who spoke about how practice has gone, what the focus has been, how things look with the skill positions and the line of scrimmage for the Wranglers, what some keys will be for the season, and more.

Coach Lake told WyoPreps they’ve been battling the hot weather, trying to keep players healthy, how they’ll have to count on some younger players to fill spots, focusing on fundamentals, but changing a few things with a couple of new coaches on the staff, what he sees around 2A this season, and more.
Pinedale scrimmages its county rival, Big Piney, later this week. They open the 2025 season at home against 3A Rawlins on Friday, Sept. 5. They're seeking their first winning season since 2016.
