The Class 1A 9-man West Conference looks to be another competitive group of teams again in 2024, and the Greybull Buffs would like to climb the standings this year. Anchored by three returning all-conference players, the Buffs seek a return to the playoffs for the first time since 2020. Head coach Jerome Pouska feels this may be the group that accomplishes that feat.

Greybull went 3-4 last season. They were fifth in the conference at 2-4. The Buffs ranked 11th in both total offense and points per game at 246 yards and 17.1 points per game. Greybull held their own on defense and allowed only 288 yards per game. That was seventh in the 9-man ranks. They gave up 27.7 points per game, which was tenth.

Lucas Bolzer, Wyatt Didrickson, and Caiden Sorenson are the all-conference trio that returns. They were the top three tacklers last year for Greybull. Didrickson led the way with 54 tackles in 2023. Those three, along with Charles Fink and Coach Pouska, spoke with David Settle of WyoPreps to preview the 2024 season. It was an upbeat conversation.

The Buffs open the season at Wright on Sept. 6. They host the Powell JV, Rocky Mountain in a non-conference game, Big Piney, and Wind River. Their road games are at Shoshoni, Rocky Mountain, and Wyoming Indian.
