
Torrington’s Brayden Hime Opts for Football at Black Hills State
Torrington senior Brayden Hime will continue his football career after signing his National Letter of Intent at Black Hills State in South Dakota. Hime was a three-year letter-winner at THS. He started on the offensive line for the Blazers as a junior in the 2023 season when Torrington won the 2A football state championship. He started on the offensive and defensive lines as a senior during the 2024 season. Hime was an all-conference selection last fall and was selected as the Torrington High School Lineman of the Year by his coaches.
Hime was a team captain and helped the Trailblazers to a 5-5 record in the 2024 season. They finished third in the 3A East Conference at 3-2 and lost to No. 2 Cody in the first round of the 3A playoffs. Hime helped pave the way for a Torrington offense that averaged 293 yards and 22.3 points per game. On defense, Hime made 38 tackles, with one tackle for loss and two sacks. He also had one fumble recovery and one pass breakup.
In 2023, Hime earned an honorable mention all-conference nod and helped the Trailblazers to a 9-3 record and the 2A football state championship. That was Torrington’s first title since 1990.
Hime is a three-sport athlete who also plays basketball and competes in track and field at THS. He also gets it done in the classroom. Hime was named the Student of the Semester in the Fall of 2024. He is a member of the National Honor Society and a three-year Scholar Athlete, which is given to one female and one male in each class who has the highest GPA and is a three-sport athlete.

Black Hills State University is in Spearfish, SD. The Yellow Jackets compete in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) at the NCAA Division II level. Brayden’s dad, Shane, played basketball at BHSU in the early 90s.
