The Green River Wolves football team will have a new leader in 2023. Kevin Cuthbertson has stepped down after three seasons.

The Green River Star first reported the recent resignation.

WyoPreps confirmed the news with Green River High School Athletic Director Tony Beardsley in an email on Wednesday.

Cuthbertson is an alum of Green River High School. He was hired in the spring of 2020. The Wolves were 4-21 during Cuthbertson’s tenure.

Green River was 2-7 in the 2022 season and missed the Class 3A playoffs for the fourth straight year. The Wolves fell to Evanston, 44-7, in their regular season finale on Oct. 21, 2022. That loss eliminated Green River from playoff contention. Cuthbertson met with the team and informed them of his decision on Oct. 24, 2022.

The search for a replacement is underway.
