Jackson Pounds Buffalo in 3A Quarterfinals
The Jackson Broncs have the #1 offense in 3A and put those skills on display on Friday with a resounding 75-27 win over Buffalo in the opening round of the 3A playoffs. Buffalo struck first in the game as quarterback Jackson Moon tossed a touchdown pass to Blake Bell to put the Bison up 6-0. Later in the first quarter, Jackson answered with a touchdown from Brody Hasenack giving the Broncs a 7-6 lead.
Hasenack scored again later in the first and that TD was answered by Blake Bell of Buffalo who returned the ensuing kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown to make it a 1 point game at 14-13. Jackson turned in a big play of their own later in the first as quarterback Sadler Smith tossed a 72-yard touchdown pass to Nate Keipert so it was 20-13. The Broncs made some hay in the 2nd quarter as Hasenack scored again and so did Sadler Smith to bump the lead to 34-13.
That first half was entertaining, to say the least as Bell scored for the 3rd time for Buffalo on an 85 yard pass completion to make it 34-20 but Jackson added a Clancy Maher touchdown catch for the Broncs led 41-20 at the halftime intermission.
Hasenack and Keipert added 3rd quarter touchdowns to put the game out of reach as Jackson improved to 8-2 on the year. They'll be in Douglas for the 3A semi-finals and the Bearcats have the #1 ranked defense in 3A. Buffalo's season comes to an end with a record of 5-4.
