Justin Vela of Sheridan Signs with Dickinson St. for Football

Sheridan offensive lineman Justin Vela has signed on with the Dickinson State football program in North Dakota. Vela was an all-conference selection in 4A on the o-line and was one of 96 athletes nominated by the Wyoming Chapter of the National Football Foundation as a scholar-athlete.

Vela also has excelled in wrestling as well as he is currently ranked 4th in 4A at 285 pounds by wyowrestling.com. In 2020 he placed 4th at the 4A state tournament with a record of 27-23.

Many a Wyoming athlete found a home at Dickinson State in recent years. The Blue Hawk football team went 9-0 at the NAIA level in the North Star Athletic Conference.
