Meeteetse Keeps Playoff Hopes Alive in 1A 6-Man Football
Meeteetse is a much different 1A 6-man football team from a year ago but they also sit at 2-2 in North Conference play following an 80-25 win over Ten Sleep last week. The Longhorns are 2-5 overall but they have an exceptional football player in Joe Pina who ran for 181 yards and 3 touchdowns in this game against Ten Sleep. He also caught a touchdown pass and rang up 239 all-purpose yards.
On defense, Pina made a big difference with 10 tackles and 5 of them solo with 2 sacks. He also had an interception and recovered 2 fumbles. That's a pretty good day at the office. Meeteetse has a critical game in terms of the postseason as they'll host Midwest.
It's been a rough go of it for Ten Sleep with a record of 0-5 with one forfeit. The Pioneers are scheduled to play at Burlington this week. We have a few photos from that Meeteetse-Ten Sleep game in our gallery below, compliments of Angie Erickson. Enjoy!
