The Meeteetse Longhorns made it to the 1A 6 man state championship game in 2020 and lost to Farson-Eden. That is motivation enough for the 2021 season and after a season-opening loss to Bridger, Montana, the Longhorns dominated Kaycee 51-6 on Saturday afternoon.

This team has two explosive players in Dace Bennett and Kalvin Erickson. Bennett threw the ball for over 1400 yards last season and ran for close to 1300. Erickson had 33 catches for 695 yards and 15 touchdowns. Both players are major components of the Longhorn defense so this group will be challenging for all their opponents this season.

Kaycee has been beset by a few injuries so that doesn't help considering that depth is an issue already. Their younger players are being baptized by fire which will help them in the long run. The Bucs are 0-2 but there's still a long way to go.

Take a peek at our video from Saturday's game plus some photographs from Anita Bartlett and  Angie Erickson.
