Mountain View lineman Hunter Meeks will continue his football career at the next level after signing Wednesday to play at Black Hills State University.

Meeks is a two-time all-state and three-time all-conference selection. He started on both the offensive and defensive lines for Mountain View for three years.

Meeks was a part of two Class 2A State Championships with the Buffalos in 2017 and 2019. He also helped them to a runner-up finish in 2018.

The senior is a finalist for the Wyoming Chapter of the National Football Foundation's Scholar-Athlete Award.

During the 2020 prep football season, Meeks helped Mountain View to a 7-3 overall record and the semifinals of the Class 2A playoffs. He anchored an offensive line that paved the way for the Buffalos to average 315.4 yards and 28.2 points per game. That ranked second in Class 2A.

On defense, Meeks had 144 defensive points, which was second on the Mountain View team and No. 18 in Class 2A. He finished with 66 total tackles, seven tackles for loss, and three sacks. Meeks also had two fumble recoveries, an interception, four pass breakups, and one blocked kick. He even scored a defensive touchdown last season.

Black Hills State University is in Spearfish, SD. Meeks will play for the Yellow Jackets and head coach Josh Breske.
