Little Snake River and Riggen Myers ran their way to a Class 1A 6-man state championship over H.E.M, 71-38 Saturday in Laramie.

Myers accounted for seven total scores on the day. Four of them came in the first half. He had four touchdown runs, threw a TD pass, returned a kickoff for a touchdown and returned an interception for a score. Myers finished with 480 all-purpose yards, 376 yards were on the ground.

Little Snake River (10-0) win its third state championship in school history and first since 2011.

Myers ran in a 62-yard run to put the Rattlers up 8-0 in the middle of the first quarter.

H.E.M. was quick to answer with a score of their own a 24-yard TD pass to Jase Smith from Shane Mcgraw to even the game at eight in the first quarter. The shutout streak for Little Snake River came to an end as H.E.M. became the first team to score on the Rattlers all season, but could not keep with the Miners.

Myers ran the ensuing kickoff back 49-yards for a touchdown to give the Rattlers a 16-8 lead. H.E.M. was able to answer with a 3-yard rushing TD by Conor McGraw, but the 2-pt conversion was no good keeping the Miners behind 16-14.

The Miners kept the game close early as they were able to go shot for shot with the Rattlers but were unable to contain the LSR offense. Oscar Herrera caught an 8-yard TD pass from Taylor Otte, Myers added a 10-yard TD run, which made it 32-14. Brendon Reeves connected with Shane McGraw for a 1-yard score to help out the Miners, but Myers scored again on a 40-yard run. The score was 39-22 at the half.

Myers opened the second half with an 11-yard TD run, as the teams traded scores over the first five possessions of the half. H.E.M. got a 4-yard score. LSR got a 10-yard score, H.E.M. got a 17-yard TD pass, and LSR got an 18-yard TD pass that made the score 57-38 at the end of three.

Zander Risner added a 3-yard run and Myers ended his dominant performance with a 55-yard interception return for a touchdown setting the score at 71-38.

LSR had 477 yards of total offense. They ran for 415 yards and averaged 12.6 yards per attempt. Taylor Otte was 4-6 for 44 yards and one touchdown. Myers also had 10 tackles on defense and two pass breakups. Oscar Herrera led the way with 12 total tackles.

H.E.M. (10-1) finished with 341 yards of total offense. Conor McGraw ran for 94 yards and two touchdowns. Shane McGraw was 15-28 with 150 yards and two passing TDs through the air but added two costly interceptions.
