There was a Thursday night match-up in 2A football in the northeast part of Wyoming as Newcastle took on Upton-Sundance. Newcastle tallied first with a touchdown in the opening quarter and Upton-Sundance responded with a 63-yard run to the end zone from Kaedyn Fletcher. Newcastle did have the lead after one-quarter of play 7-6. In the 2nd quarter, Newcastle put 10 points on the board with a field goal and another touchdown with Upton-Sundance responding again with a touchdown connection from Fletcher to Chase Mills that covered 20 yards. Newcastle held a 17-14 lead at the halftime intermission.

The Dogies did not surrender a point in the 2nd half and rang up another touchdown in the 3rd quarter, another in the 4th, and safety to win it 32-14. Newcastle has 3 guys on defense who have been solid this year with Jacob Prell, Holden McConkey, and Quint Perino. McConkey leads the team in all-purpose yardage on offense and Perino is the Dogies' quarterback.

Newcastle is 2-3 and they have a tough home game against Big Horn this week while Upton-Sundance will host Wheatland in Sundance. The Patriots will be looking for their first win of the year in that game.

We have a few photos of that game from the Upton-Sundance Patriots in our gallery below. Enjoy!
