Pine Bluffs went 8 for 8 in the regular season in 1A 9-man football as they routed Southeast on Friday 63-6. The Hornets had a close game start the season vs. Shoshoni but steamrolled the rest of their opponents.

The Hornets grabbed the lead in this game against Southeast in the 1st quarter and never looked back. They got a 40-yard run for a touchdown from quarterback Stu Lerwick and a 4-yard run for a score by Tyler Beeken. The Hornet defense also contributed a safety to it was 16-0 after one-quarter of play.

Pine Bluffs blew the doors off in the 2nd quarter with 40 points starting out with a Lerwick TD pass to Alex Sloan that covered 8 yards which was followed by a 22-yard run to the end zone from Dalton Schaefer. Lerwick was a busy guy in this quarter as he tossed a 67-yard touchdown pass to Ryan Fornstrom and then a 10-yarder to Wyatt Carter. Plus he had a 6-yard run for a score as the Hornets assumed a 56-0 lead at the halftime intermission.

There wasn't much Southeast could do in this game even though they did get a 1 yard TD plunge from Ayden Desmond. Pine Bluffs is the #1 seed from the East in 1A 9-man and they can get a couple of home playoff games. The first one will be Friday night at 6 pm hosting Big Piney. The Southeast Cyclones finished the regular season at 6-2 so they will be the #2 seed from the East. They will be at home on Friday night to take on Wind River at 5 pm.
