Powell Gets Back on Winning Track, Beating Green River

Powell suffered a couple of tough losses and was winless in the 3A West starting the night vs. Green River. The Panthers put a touchdown on the board in the first quarter on a 13 yard TD pass from Jhett Schwahn to Nathan Feller so that made it 7-0.

Powell really got going in the 2nd quarter as Schwahn and Feller hooked up for a 25 yard TD connection. That was followed by a 10-yard scamper to the end zone from Reed Smith to increase the Powell lead to 21 and then Schwahn threw his 3rd touchdown pass of the first half, this one to Austin Graft that covered 43 yards so it was 28-0 Panthers at the halftime intermission.

Schwahn threw touchdown pass #4 in the 3rd quarter with Graft the recipient and the Pathers scored twice more in the 4th quarter as Smith had a 28 yard run to the end zone and Cody Seifert had a 3 run for a TD.

Powell wins it over Green River 48-0 to get tp 5-2 overall and 1-2 in the 3A West. The Panthers have a huge game this week on the road at Jackson. It's been a tough year for Green River with 6 losses in 6 games. It won't get any easier for the Wolves as they will meet undefeated Cody on Friday.
