The Powell Pioneers ran the table at the State Legion Baseball Tournament and it certainly helped playing at home. The Pioneers won their 2nd consecutive State Championship with a 5-4 win over Cody on Wednesday in a well-played game. Powell crushed Cody earlier in the tournament 17-2 and also beat Casper 10-0 so they played like champions in the tourney.

In the last few years, Powell has been stocked with gifted athletes, leading them to the 3A State Championship in basketball and a 3A football playoff berth. They were the team to beat the Legion "A" tournament and the seniors led the way.

We talked with Brock Johnson, Jhett Schwahn, and Cade Queen following the title game, and winning another state title is a great accomplishment with the Legion Northwest Regional Tournament to come.
