Ryan Clapper of Southeast Commits to Chadron State
Southeast speedster Ryan Clapper will be taking his impressive skills over the Border to Chadron State in Nebraska. Clapper had a tremendous season in 1A track with a state championship in the 200-meter dash in 21.79. That mark also set the 1A record and the school record. He also won a gold medal at the state outdoor meet in the 100-meter dash in 10.98. Clapper took 2nd in the 400 in 50.19 and his Cyclone 4x100 relay team won the 1A state championship in 43.35, which set a class and school record.
In the 2022 indoor track season, Clapper was 2nd at the state meet in the 200 in 22.63. He was also very productive in track in his junior season with a 2nd place finish in the 100 and the 200 at the state meet and the Southeast 4x100 relay team took 4th.
Clapper is also a three-time all-state selection in football and rushed for 1452 yards and 19 touchdowns in 2021 and 1090 yards and 18 touchdowns as a junior.
Chadron State is a Division II school that is a member of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference
