Sheridan Football Postgame Remarks
Defending 4A champion Sheridan showed a lot of fortitude in their 42-39 win over Cheyenne East on Friday. The match-up between the #1 and #2 teams in the classification lived up to its billing with big scoring plays in a compelling game.
Sheridan got 228 yards rushing and 5 touchdowns from Colson Coon who ran for over 1600 yards last season. Dane Steel turned in a gigantic play for the Broncs with a 93 yard kickoff return for a touchdown as he zoomed right through the Cheyenne East coverage.
This meeting maybe the first of two this season between these 2 teams and there were plenty of great athletes on the field for both squads. We had a chance to talk with Coon and Steel about their performances in this big 4A showdown.
