Star Valley is 3 for 3 battling 3A Wyoming schools and posted a solid 48-14 road win over Powell on Friday night. Star Valley quarterback Taft McClure has enjoyed a sensational season and threw 3 long touchdown passes in the first quarter against Powell. The first one went to Wyatt Crogg that covered 60 yards and the 2nd one went to Chase Stewart that went for 42 and then found Stewart again for 55 yards and a score.

Powell got on the board in the 2nd quarter as quarterback Jhett Schwann hit Trey Stenerson for 49 yards and a touchdown so, at halftime, the Panthers were down 20-6. Star Valley really got with it in the 3rd quarter as McClure threw TD passes #4 and #5, 20 yards to Jayden Cook, and 51 yards to Crogg who by the way had over 200 yards receiving in the contest. In between that, Kaleb Spaulding had a one-yard run to the end zone for the Braves. Powell did score in that 3rd quarter of play with Schwann hooking up with Stenerson again for another touchdown but after 3, Star Valley held a 41-14 lead. McClure threw for well over 400 yards in the game and capped his effort with a 19 pass to Chase Stewart in the 4th quarter.

Star Valley which has been ranked #2 in our 3A poll will host #1 Cody on Friday so what a game that could be. Powell is 3-3 on the year and the Panthers will be at Evanston this week. We do have some great photos from Greg Wise from this Star Valle-Powell game in our gallery. Enjoy!
