Defending 3A state champion star valley took on their 3rd straight out of state opponent as they hosted Sugar Salem Idaho, This Sugar Salem team was a defending Idaho state champion and was the last team to beat star valley, which was in the 3rd game last season.

The braves defense came up with a gigantic play in the 1st quarter as Chase Merrill picked up a fumble and took it to the house to put star valley in front 7-0. In the 2nd quarter, the Braves offense came up with a gigantic play as Dean Shaw galloped 72 yards to the end zone to increase the lead to 14-0.

In the 3rd quarter, Star Valley converted again on a 35-yard pass play from Shaw to Merrill and it was a 21 point advantage for star valley after 3 quarters of play.

 Merrill added a 4th quarter field goal while Sugar Salem found the end zone for the only time in the game, thanks to Hadley Miller but Star Valley wins their 12th game in a row dating back to last season with a 24-7 win over Sugar-Salem, Idaho. The Braves will host Riverton this week in Afton.
