Girls Basketball

All-State awards were voted on by all the head coaches in the classes around the state. To receive all-state, a player must have been voted first-team all-conference.

Class 3A chose 16 players in each of the two leagues. Class 4A opted for 14 players in the two conferences.

The state champions this year were Southeast in 1A, Sundance in 2A, Cody in 3A, and Cheyenne East in 4A.

vThe 3A and 4A girls’ basketball state championships are in Casper, where two teams will win a state title during the second weekend in March.

Hays is the second player to be selected from Cody High School, as she joined her sister, Molly, who was a two-time Gatorade Award winner.

Thermopolis junior Lilly Quintanilla, Buffalo senior Karly Davis, Tel Parry of Star Valley, and Wyoming Indian’s Ben Niedo, were selected based on their performances.

These awards were voted on by head coaches in the two classifications, respectively. The Wyoming Coaches Association only recognizes one team for all-state.

The coaches in the respective conferences voted on these players.

For all but 16 teams, this is the final record of the season. Those 16 squads will play in the 3A-4A state tournament starting on Thursday in Casper.

The Class 1A and 2A girls’ basketball state tournaments will be in Casper on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
