Sheridan seems to be loaded year after year with great athletes and yet another one has chosen a school to continue their athletic career. Terran Grooms will be headed to Montana to play football for Rocky Mountain College in Billings.

Grooms was named All-State in 4A as a running back in his senior season as the Broncs repeated as the 4A State Champions. He ran the ball for 820 yards with 14 touchdowns and had 73 yards rushing and a TD in the 4A title game vs. Cheyenne East. He had 114 yards rushing vs. Thunder Basin and 104 vs. Campbell County during the regular season. Grooms was also an All-Conference pick as a linebacker with 24 tackles in 2023 and has also made a name for himself in wrestling.

At the 2023 State Wrestling Tournament, Grooms took 2nd place in the 170-pound bracket in 4A as he lost a grueling 7-6 decision to Star Valley's Grant Weiss in the championship match. He finished his junior year with a record of 44-6. In his sophomore season, Grooms placed 3rd at State in the 4A 160-pound division with a record of 27-10 and also took 3rd place at State in 152-pound weight class as a freshman with a mark of 20-8. Grooms also has extensive experience with the Sheridan Wrestling Club.

Rocky Mountain College is an NAIA institution that plays in the Frontier Conference. The Battlin' Bears football team was 6-4 last season but finished the year with 3 straight wins.
