In 4A, Rock Springs remains the No. 1 ranked team. The Tigers received 16 of the 18 first-place votes. Sheridan is still in second. The change sees Thunder Basin move up to third, which pushes Cheyenne East down to fourth. The margin is 12 points in the voting between the Bolts and Thunderbirds. Natrona County stays at No. 5.

The top two teams keep their spot in the Class 1A-9 man poll. Pine Bluffs earns 13 of the 15 votes for No. 1. The Shoshoni Wranglers are second. There is a switch with the third and fifth-ranked teams. Rocky Mountain’s victory over Lusk last Friday has the Grizzlies jumping up two spots to third. Wind River remains at No. 4, while the Lusk Tigers drop down to fifth.

Little Snake River is a unanimous choice for the top spot in Class 1A-6 man football. The Rattlers received all 11 first-place votes. Encampment is a solid No. 2 in the rankings. Despite a second straight loss, Meeteetse holds in third. The Longhorns played the top-rated Rattlers close last Saturday in Baggs. Hulett holds in the fourth spot. Dubois is back in the rankings at five. The Rams’ big win over Farson-Eden last Saturday puts them back in the top five for the first time since Week 4.

As mentioned, 3A and 2A have the same top five as a week ago.

Cody is first in 3A with 16 of the 18 first-place votes. Jackson follows in second, and then it’s Star Valley, Powell, and Douglas to round out the top five.

Lyman pulls in all but two first-place votes in 2A. The Eagles are the only undefeated team in the class. Torrington remains a solid pick for No. 2. Lovell, Cokeville, and Wheatland follow in three, four, and five. The Trailblazers and Bulldogs were the other two teams to receive first-place votes. They play each other on Friday night in Wheatland.7

University of Wyoming’s Top 50 Football Players

During the summer of 2021, counted down the Top 50 football players in University of Wyoming history, presented by Premier Bone & Joint Centers, Worthy of Wyoming.

The rules are simple: What was the player's impact while in Laramie? That means NFL stats, draft status or any other accolade earned outside of UW is irrelevant when it comes to this list.

This isn't a one-man job. This task called for a panel of experts. Joining 7220's Cody Tucker are Robert GagliardiJared NewlandRyan Thorburn, and Kevin McKinney.

We all compiled our own list of 50 and let computer averages do the work. Think BCS -- only we hope this catalog is fairer.
