There are only three changes in the newest edition of the WyoPreps.com Coaches and Media Football Poll.

Class 4A has one team returning to the rankings, while there’s a small flip-flop in Class 3A. The other three classes are the same as a week ago, even the tie for fifth in Class 2A.

Cheyenne East holds the top spot by three points over Thunder Basin. The difference is one more first-place votes for the Thunderbirds. Rock Springs win last Friday vaults the Tigers to third, while Cheyenne Central drops to fourth following their second straight loss. Sheridan is back in the top-5 at No. 5. Natrona County falls out but did receive some votes.

Jackson continues to be the No. 1 ranked team in Class 3A. The Broncs received 21 of the 22 first-place votes in their division. Cody moves back up to second, while Powell falls to third. Star Valley and Douglas hold steady at four and five.

Mountain View continues to hold the top spot in 2A. The Buffalos earned 16 of the 17 top ballots. Lyman stays put at No. 2. Upton-Sundance follows in third, but their margin over Torrington, who is fourth, has narrowed to six points in the voting. Big Horn and Lovell remain in a tie for fifth. Three more teams got at least one more vote.

In Class 1A-9 Man, Southeast holds No. 1. The Cyclones garnered all but one first-place vote. All but one second-place vote went to Rocky Mountain, as the Grizzlies hold in the No. 2 spot, where they’ve been all season. Lusk remains third but by only nine points in the balloting over Shoshoni, who is fourth. Saratoga holds onto the No. 5 spot by three points. Pine Bluffs was the only other team to receive votes.

The Farson-Eden Pronghorns stay on top of Class 1A-6 Man. They are followed by Meeteetse, Encampment, Kaycee, and Little Snake River. The margin between the Tigers and Buckaroos for third dropped to six points in the voting. Three more teams earned at least one vote.

This weekend’s schedule features several ranked match-ups. In 4A, No. 1 Cheyenne East visits third-rated Rock Springs, while second-ranked Thunder Basin heads to Sheridan to face the No. 5 Broncs. Another 1 vs. 2 showdown happens in Class 3A, this time it is second-rated Cody at top-ranked Jackson. There are two games that have ranked opponents going head-to-head in Class 2A. The Bridger Valley rivals square off as No. 1 Mountain View hosts No. 2 Lyman. On the other side of the state, co-No. 5 Big Horn heads to Sundance to play third-ranked Upton-Sundance. From Class 1A-9 Man, fifth-ranked Saratoga plays at No. 3 Lusk, as the Tigers look to stop a two-game skid. Finally, on Saturday, the regular season concludes in Class 1A-6 Man with top-rated Farson-Eden at No. 5 Little Snake River.
