Wheatland had a close win over Newcastle to end the 2A regular season and played host to Big Piney in the opening round of the playoffs on Friday night. The Bulldogs put that Newcastle game in the rearview mirror and took it to the Punchers on offense and defense. Wheatland opened the scoring in the first quarter on a 30-yard touchdown connection from Kade Preuit to Rodee Brow to put the Dawgs up 6-0.

In the 2nd quarter, Preuit and Brow hooked up again for another score on a play that covered 22 yards, and then with the successful 2 point try, the Bulldogs led 14-0. Wheatland ended up converting for 2, 4 times in the game as Preuitt found the end zone later in the 2nd quarter for the TD and he converted the 2 point attempt. so it was 22-0 Dawgs at halftime.

Wheatland poured in on in the 3rd quarter with Ryland Petroski getting in from 4 yards out for the score and with the 2 point try it was 30-0. Preuit later found Brow for an 81-yard scoring connection. The Dawgs went for 2 again and made it to bump the lead to 38-0. Maxx Meyer capped the scoring for Wheatland with a 1-yard run and the Bulldog defense was excellent in the game, posting a shut-out in a 45-0 win.
