Wind River's Mindy Russell had a tremendous state track meet in 2019 with 3 gold medals in the sprints and anchored the state championship 4x400 meter relay team. That was one of the most dominating performances in recent memory at state track and Russell will be taking her skills to Montana State.

Back in 2019, she won the 2A 100 meter dash title with a time of 12.73 and also won the 200-meter championship in 26;18. Just for good measure, Russell won the 400 in 56.34. To wrap up a tremendous meet, she was on the Cougars 4x400 relay that took the tape in 4.12.84

Russell also enjoyed a great deal of success as a sophomore with a 2A state championship in the 400 and another state title in the 4x400 relay. That relay team, by the way, featured 3 sophomores. As a freshman, Russell placed 2nd in the 400 at the state meet, and her 4x400 relay team also placed 2nd.

It's a shame that the 2020 outdoor track season was canceled due to the pandemic as Russell had a chance to go down as one of the most decorated track athletes in Wyoming prep history.
