Carter Archuleta of Douglas has been a monster on the football field for the last couple of years and has signed a letter of intent to play for Black Hills State in Spearfish, South Dakota. In the 2024 season for the Cats, Archuleta was named 3A All-State as a linebacker and finished with 113 tackles, 45 of them solo with a blocked punt. His 113 tackles were 3rd in 3A last season. On offense, Archuleta was a punishing running back at 215 pounds and rushed for 801 yards and 14 touchdowns.

In his junior year, he was named a 3A All-State Linebacker with 117 tackles that led the classification. Archuleta had 43 solo tackles, two sacks, and two interceptions. He rang up 5 touchdowns on offense for the 2023 season.

Archuleta has been wrestling this season and went 6-2 at 215 pounds in the Trojan Invite in Casper and placed 4th at that weight in the Shane Shatto Tournament in Douglas. Black Hills State competes in the Division II ranks and is a member of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
