Conference games have a little more on the line compared to other games...and it becomes more interesting when 2 conference teams are ranked in the coaches/media poll.

In 4A, Natrona stays on top heading into the first of 2 scheduled meetings with cross town rival Kelly Walsh. Cheyenne East is still #2, and their rivals from Cheyenne Central are right behind them at #3. Both teams meet at Storey Gym on Friday night. The Lady Indians share the #3 ranking with Gillette. The #5 ranking hasn't been kind to teams as of late. Laramie had it last week and things didn't go well. Sheridan now holds that spot, and visits the Lady Plainsmen to start conference play.

This weekend going to be big in 3A...mostly in the East. Unanimous #1 Worland (the only undefeated team in the state) has 2 big conference tests laying in wait. First up is #4 Douglas at home, and then a road trip to #3 Newcastle. Mountain View is still #2 and they host a Star Valley team that has been kicked out of the top 5. Pinedale is ranked for the first time in awhile, but they have to share the spot with Buffalo. The Lady Bison also have Newcastle and Douglas on their schedule this weekend, which could stir the pot in the Northeast.

The 2A schedule is quiet this week, because the schedule doesn't have anything in the form of ranked team vs. ranked team. The top 3 are unchanged from last week...Lyman, Pine Bluffs and Southeast hold those positions. Wyoming Indian moves up one spot to #4, and Big Horn drops down to #5, heading into the start of conference play.

Like 2A, the 1A schedule is equally quiet this weekend...the only difference is that most of the noise was made last week. St. Stephens has a more comfortable lead on the #1 ranking, compared to the past 2 weeks, but defending champ Cokeville has announced their presence for the first time since the pre-season. The Lady Panthers have righted the ship, after back-to-back wins on the road against former #2 and #3 Encampment and Little Snake River...now ranked #3 and #4 respectively. Rock River stays put at #5.
