WyoPreps Coaches and Media Volleyball Poll Doesn’t Change Much
Two teams rejoined the latest WyoPreps Coaches and Media Volleyball Poll on Thursday.
Each class shifted, but the movement was not the same as a week ago.
The four top-ranked teams remained Cokeville, Big Horn, Buffalo, and Laramie. The Plainsmen in 4A are the last undefeated team in the state and the only unanimous pick for No. 1.
Southeast jumped back into the top five in Class 1A. The Cyclones are fourth after they swept previously ranked Rock River. Cokeville held the top spot with 11 of the 14 first-place votes. Upton got the other three first-place votes and stayed second. Little Snake River was third, followed by Southeast, and then Riverside stayed fifth.
In 2A, Big Horn and Greybull were still first and second. The Rams garnered 11 of the 12 first-place votes. The Buffs got the other first-place tally. Wright moved up two spots to third. Tongue River remained fourth. Burns returned to the poll at No. 5.
The only difference in the 3A volleyball rankings from last week was no tie for fifth. Buffalo was still No. 1 with nine of the 13 first-place votes. Powell, Mountain View, and Douglas stayed put. Lyman was alone in fifth this week.
Finally, in Class 4A, a pair of teams moved up in the poll. Laramie was at the top. Thunder Basin climbed to second. Cody fell to third after a loss at Star Valley. The Braves moved up to fourth. That pushed Campbell County down to fifth.
