Two undefeated teams square off in Evanston on Friday night, as the Red Devils host the top-ranked Cody Broncs.

Evanston comes in 5-0 for the first time since 2018. The defending champion Broncs are off to a 4-0 start.

Even those this game wasn’t voted our WyoPreps Big School ‘Game of the Week,’ WyoPreps chose to spotlight this undefeated showdown. We spoke briefly with Cody head coach Matt McFadden and Evanston coach Jim Burton before this conference tilt.

The top two rushing teams in Class 3A collide in this game. Evanston is averaging 302.5 yards per game with their option attack. Cody comes in at 296.8 rushing yards per game. Add in the passing game, and the Red Devils and Broncs are second and third in total offense.

On the other side of the ball, Cody is second and Evanston is third in total defense in the division. They are separated by less than seven yards per game. They also allow one point different than each other.

This is the tenth meeting between the two schools on the gridiron. The Broncs are 7-2 all-time against the Red Devils. Cody has won the last six games in the series, according to series records from wyoming-football.com.
