WyoPreps Game of the Week: Big Horn at Lovell [AUDIO]

For the second consecutive year, the Big Horn Rams and Lovell Bulldogs square off in the season debut for both teams on Friday.

This is the fan-voted WyoPreps Small School Game of the Week.

A year ago, the Bulldogs went to Big Horn and shut out the Rams, 26-0. Both teams finished 5-2 in their conference and qualified for the playoffs. The Rams lost to eventual 2A state champ Lyman in the first round, while the Bulldogs lost to Upton-Sundance in the first round. Lovell finished 6-3 last year. Big Horn was 5-4.

Lovell was the preseason No. 5 in Class 2A but dropped out after their scrimmage, where they played short-handed.

Both teams lost some key personnel but also have enough experience returning to make this an intriguing Week 1 match-up.

WyoPreps had a chance to visit with both head coaches before this game. They talked about how the scrimmages went, the benefit of seeing another team instead of reps against your own guys, what they expect from each other, and more. That’s in the audio interviews at the top of this story.

This is the eighth meeting on the gridiron between the two schools, according to wyoming-football.com. Big Horn leads the all-time series, 5-2.

The kick-off is at 7 p.m. at Kevin P. Robertson Memorial Stadium in Lovell.
