The first playoff game between the Dubois Rams and Encampment Tigers in the Class 1A-6 Man semifinals is one of the WyoPreps “Games of the Week.”

Encampment is back in the semifinals one year after losing to the eventual state champ.

Dubois is back in the semis for the first time in seven years.

This is part of an all-West Conference semifinal series. These two met in Week 7 with the Tigers defeating the Rams, 61-26. WyoPreps was there for that Encampment win.

The Rams are coming off a dramatic 56-49 victory at No. 4 Hulett last week.

Second-ranked Encampment dominated Guernsey-Sunrise, 68-0.

WyoPreps talked with both coaches this week ahead of the rematch. Coach Trembly spoke of his team’s win last week after Dubois had played the Red Devils in Week 8. He also touched on being a little healthier than the first game this year, adjustments in the rematch, and trying to focus on the finer points of the game. Coach Willford felt last week was a good game to get his team into the postseason mentality, but he knows this will probably be a different game than the first time versus the Rams. He talked about their power attack versus Dubois’ more open attack that prides itself on speed.

These two teams are very similar. They are second (Encampment) and third (Dubois) in rushing at 264.4 and 262.7 yards per game. The Rams have a nearly 20 yard per game average advantage in passing versus the Tigers. The difference might be on defense, where the Tigers allow 260 yards per game compared to 325 for Dubois.

While the two schools have played three games in the regular season, this is the first matchup in the playoffs. Encampment is 3-0 against the Rams. The series history is courtesy of wyoming-football.com.

It’s a 1 p.m. start at Encampment Field.
