WyoPreps spoke with both head coaches before the game.

Greybull head Jeremy Pouska discussed his team’s season to this point, some key players for the Buffs, the rivalry, being familiar with the Rebels after being an assistant there, and keys for a Greybull victory.

Riverside head coach Jason Mitchell is new to the rivalry, but that didn’t stop him from talking up its importance. Mitchell spoke about his team’s first five games, juggling a bit of a banged-up roster, player development, preparing for Greybull, and dealing with Homecoming, a rival opponent, and more.

The two Big Horn Basin rivals have fairly similar statistics.

The Buffs average 191 yards and 25.5 points per game. They allow 260 yards and 37 points per game. Greybull enters this game off a forfeit win over St. Stephens last week.

Riverside is at 213 yards and 29 points per game. They give up just a few more yards at 263 yards and 31 points per game. The Rebels lost to No. 4 Wind River last week.

Friday’s game will be the 31st meeting on the football field. Greybull has won eight straight games in the series and holds an all-time lead of 17-13. The first game was played in 1987. The series history is courtesy of wyoming-football.com.

The game time is 7 p.m. at Rebels Stadium in Basin.
