One of the brightest stars in 1A track and field put her skills on display at the 1A East Regional meet in Sheridan over the weekend. Lingle's Kaelyn Riley won 4 events in the meet, the 100 meter dash in 12.7, the 200 in 26.43, the long jump with a leap of 15-8.5 and a gold in the triple jump going 34-4. The Chadron State signee will be a major factor in this week's state meet. Kaycee was the 1A Girls regional champion thanks to Tinley Pierson. The sophomore won both of the hurdle events, with a 17.82 run in the 100 and a time of 51-69 in the 300. Taylar Scott from Hanna won the 400 in 103.91. The 800 victor was Tara Elmer from Kaycee in 2.23.93. Hanna also took the tape in the 1600 and the 3200 as Madison Campbell wins the mile in 6.13.33 while Sabrina Geller wins the 2 mile with a time of 13.26.29. Lingle senior Jordyn Gaspers cleared 4-7 to win the high jump whole Upton freshman Jerrica Caylor cleared 9 feet even to place 1st in the pole vault. Guernsey swept the weight events. Bailey Martin threw 35 feet even to win the shot and Macy Mote threw 103-3 to win the discus. In the relays for the 1A East meet, Kaycee won the 4x1, the 4x4 and the 1600 medley with Hanna winning the 4x8. Don't forget our short video!
