The next step in the postseason for Wyoming American Legion Baseball teams is the Northwest Regional Tournaments. This year, the Gillette Roughriders will play in Billings, MT, at the AA Northwest Regional Tournament for Region 7 at Dehler Park. The Lovell Mustangs won the A State Tournament and are in Burley, ID, for the Northwest Class A Regional Tournament (NWCART). Both are eight-team fields in a modified, double-elimination bracket.

The AA Region 7 tournament in Billings will take place from August 6 to 10, 2025. Here’s a look at the schedule in Billings. Times are subject to change.

Wednesday, Aug. 6:

Final Score: Gillette Riders 22 Service (Anchorage, AK) Cougars 3 - Gillette broke it open with 14 runs in the 2nd inning. Cason Loftus had 2 hits, 4 RBIs, & scored 4 times. The Riders finished with 7 extra-base hits out of 18. Riley Schilling added 2 doubles & 3 RBIs.

Final Score: Yakima, WA 6 Portland (OR) Post 158 5

Final Score: Missoula (MT) Mavericks 9 LB Baseball 18U (Fort Collins, CO) 0

Final Score: Idaho Falls (ID) Bandits 10 Billings (MT) Royals 0

Thursday, Aug. 7:

Final Score: LB Baseball 18U (Fort Collins, CO) 11 Service (AK) Cougars 3 – Service is eliminated

Final Score: Portland (OR) Post 158 14 Billings (MT) Royals 11 – Billings is eliminated

Final Score: Gillette Riders 4 Missoula (MT) Mavericks 3 - Gillette scored 3 runs in the 1st inning and held off the Mavericks. Ethan Hecker had 3 hits & 2 RBIs. Riley Hawk added 1 hit & 1 RBI. Karver Partlow went 5 innings to get the win.

Final Score: Idaho Falls (ID) Bandits 11 Yakima, WA 2

Friday, Aug. 8:

Final Score: Portland (OR) Post 158 10 Missoula (MT) Mavericks 1 – Missoula is eliminated

Final Score: LB Baseball 18U (Fort Collins, CO) 7 Yakima, WA 6 – Yakima is eliminated

Final Score: Idaho Falls (ID) Bandits 7 Gillette Riders 5 - IF scored 2 runs in the 6th that were the difference. Cason Loftus had 2 hits & 2 RBIs for Gillette. The Riders trailed 3-0 and twice rallied to tie it, but just fell short.

Saturday, Aug. 9:

Final Score: Portland (OR) Post 158 11 Gillette Riders 5 - Gillette is eliminated - The Riders led 1-0, but Portland scored 6 runs over three frames to take the lead. Gillette trimmed it to 6-5, but Portland answered with 5 more in the 6th. Craig & Hawk had 1 hit & 1 RBI each. Drew Wasson added 2 RBIs.

Final Score: Idaho Falls (ID) Bandits 9 LB Baseball 18U (Fort Collins, CO) 3 - Fort Collins is eliminated

Sunday, Aug. 10:

Regional Championship Game Final Score: Portland (OR) Post 158 12 Idaho Falls (ID) Bandits 9 - Since IF's first loss, Portland forces a second title game.

Second Regional Championship Game Final Score: Portland (OR) Post 158 13 Idaho Falls 5 - Portland wins the regional and advances to the ALWS in North Carolina.

The winner advances to the American Legion World Series in Shelby, NC, on Aug. 14-19, 2025.

Final Score: Lovell (WY) Mustangs 6 Burley (ID) Green Sox 2 - A 3-run 6th inning helped Lovell pull away from the host team. Cash Wassmer had 3 hits (3B) & 2 RBIs. Hedges and Rael added RBIs. Rael also got the win in relief.

Friday, Aug. 8:

Final Score: Cache (UT) Wolverines 6 Prairie (ID) Cardinals 3 – Prairie, ID is eliminated

Final Score: Klamath Falls, OR 10 Bozeman (MT) Bucks A 9 - 9 innings

Final Score: Bitterroot (MT) Red Sox 22 Lovell Mustangs 4 - Lovell gave up 6 runs in the 1st and couldn't recover. They had 4 hits and 9 errors. Hedges and Jolley had 1 hit & 1 RBI each for Lovell.

Final Score: Burley (ID) Green Sox 14 Wasilla, AK 9 – Wasilla is eliminated

Saturday, Aug. 9:

Final Score: Burley (ID) Green Sox 8 Bozeman (MT) Bucks A 7 – Bozeman is eliminated

Final Score: Cache (UT) Wolverines 16 Lovell Mustangs 9 - 10 innings – Lovell is eliminated - The game went 3 extra innings. Neither team scored in the 8th. Both scored 2 runs in the 9th. Cache scored 9 runs in the 10th, while the Mustangs got only 2. Wassmer and Jackson had 3 hits & 2 RBIs apiece.
